SXSW Interactive: The South by Southwest is a set of film, interactive and music festivals and conferences that take place annually at Austin, Texas. The ‘interactive’ part of the festival attracts startups and businesses from all over the world. The festival held since 1987, has been a launchpad for many startups such as FourSquare, Twitter etc. Apart from speaker talks, the festival also plays host to a number of other events such as the SXSW Trade Show, the SXSW Accelerator and the SXSW Interactive Awards. The next edition of the festival will be held in March, 2012.
Engage: Organized by Webtrends Inc, the Engage conference is one of the most popular digital conferences in the world. The last edition, held in San Francisco attracted a crowd of close to 700 participants with 108 presentations being presented. Topics such as lead generation, visitor engagement and data integration were discussed during the conference. Some of the speakers who spoke at the conference include Ze Frank, Brian Solis, David Kirkpatrick and Dan Rose.
Social Media Week: The Social Media Week is a global platform that aims to connect people through content and conversation around emerging trends in social and mobile media. The biannual multicity conference was first held in February 2009 at New York. The last edition of the event, held in February 2011 saw close to 30,000 attendees attending 600 events across eight countries and four continents. The event is owned and operated by Crowdcentric Media LLC. Speakers at various editions of the event include Dennis Crowley, Chris Anderson and Chris Hughes.
Lift Conference: The Lift Conference is a series of events built around a community of pioneers who get together in Europe and Asia to explore the social implications of new technologies. The first edition of the Lift Conference took place in 2006 at Geneva, Switzerland. The event brings together participants from different fields such as business, research, media, art and not for profit. Speakers who have participated in the conference since 2006 include Robert Scoble, Don Tapscott and Jean- Claude Biver.
India Social Summit: Brought to you by India Social, the India Social Summit has become one of the most popular social media events in the country. The first edition of the event in 2010 was successful in bringing huge number of participants and social media experts from various sections of the industry. Speakers at the first edition included Hari V Krishnan, Amit Ranjan and Santosh Desai.
